Having A Moment For Pink

I’ve got this crush on blush. And armchairs.

It is safe to say I’ve never been a pink person, nor red, nor orange. In fact, the list could go on, as the colour scheme of things around me is not that wide: gray, white, black, beige, hints of green or blue here and there… However, recently I’ve been giving more attention to pastel and dusky pinks, which is very unlike me.

Over the last couple of weeks I’ve spent hours going through search results of ‘blush pink’ on Pinterest. Amongst number of stunning interiors and design pieces, I’ve mostly been drawn to pink armchairs. Apparently, I am not the only one losing my mind over them. I can’t stop dreaming about comfortable pink armchair that I would sink into after a long day to get my dose of daily reading. All of a sudden, I cannot picture my ideal reading nook without it.

This strange new obsession has also lead me to another discovery. Apparently, last year Pantone announced Rose Quartz and Serenity as colours of the year.

The two demonstrate an inherent balance between a warmer embracing rose tone and the cooler tranquil blue, reflecting connection and wellness as well as a soothing sense of order and peace.

Even though I don’t actively follow any trends, now when I think about it, this could explain my sudden interest in blush pinks (blue not so much). I wouldn’t be lying if I said that blush pinks have been around more than usual. Even looking at things around me, I notice hints of pink here and there: a backpack I’ve recently purchased, a notebook, a tube of hand cream…

Talking about interiors, pastel pink details add a subtile touch of femininity to the space without being too intrusive or distracting. It also adds much needed warmth to spaces that may lack life. This shade of pink is calming and can find its’ way to compliment most interiors. I truly wish I discovered this color earlier.

I can’ say how long my crush on blush will last, but I am sure that if not pink armchair, than some other blush pink design pieces will make its way into my living space in the nearest future.
